Optimized for use with Firefox and Internet Explorer

Welcome to the newly updated Trinity Mineral Company mineral auction site. There are some new changes with the auction site including a new optional proxy bidding.

We are moving forward with the new Proxy Bid Auction system.  There were a few rough edges that have been ironed out and I have decided to stick with the minumum bid increment change of just $1 regardless of the pricing level.  There may still be some lurking bugs in this new system but we have found most of them ... I think.   In the event of a significant problem I will shut the auction down and resume or restart it after the problems are corrected.   For proxy bid Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) visit here.

(One note of interest here to pass along to everyone is that the three most commonly used browsers "out there" - Internet Explorer, Netscape, and Firefox - all treat this system quite differently! It took a lot of tweaking to get this system to work correctly with Internet Explorer and Firefox.  There are innumerable problems with Netscape so if you are using that as your browser this auction will not be a pleasant experience for you. I had no idea of the discrepancies between browser types until engaging this new system!)

Briefly, there are now ways for you to contact other bidders anonymously, arrange the items up for auction in any way you would like by dealer, by price, by bid amounts or by creating a watch list which will greatly speed up your download times during auction closings.  You can also provide feedback to the dealers directly in their individual guestbooks and if you complete a transaction with a dealer you can provide a rating for that dealer which will be averaged with others who have rated him or her to get a quick read on the way they are viewed by successful bidders. There were also several other features added to improve navigation of the site.

As with any new software installation there may be some hidden bugs.  I have spent a lot of time looking for them but should you find any or have helpful suggestions please do not hesitate to let me know about them - email me at john@trinityminerals.com.

This site was set up to help you, the collector, connect with a larger pool of Internet mineral dealers who have a demonstrated and proven high degree of ethics.  This site will continue to expand over time to include numerous other types of mineral related matter such as books, fossils and other items.   This system is and was designed to expose other dealers to you that I know personally and to give them an opportunity to offer their minerals on some system other than Ebay.  If you are the successful bidder for a specimen you will be dealing with the dealer who placed the specimen up in the auction to complete the transaction - not me.  You will be automatically contacted with the dealer's payment information at that time.

Keith Hayes is the manager for this site and will ensure that things run smoothly and that there are regularly scheduled auctions each week.  Your first contact should start with Keith if you have questions or comments.  However,  please do not hesitate to contact me (John Veevaert) about this site if you have comments or questions.

I will still be running exclusive auctions from time to time - primarily during the major shows such as Tucson, Munich, Denver and others.  They will be announced well ahead of time.

If you are a mineral dealer interested in participating in this auction feel free to send me (John Veevaert) a note of introduction. I will be expanding this site to accommodate many more people in the future and may include you.

I have been conducting mineral auctions on the Internet since July of 1996 and now that everyone and his brother and sister are putting auction sites up I figure it is time again to do something a little different.  So here it is.

Use any of the links to the side to get started.

Thank you for your continued interest and give these folks a chance.  They are good people!
